Alan Clements enters his second season as the head coach of the Mercy College women's volleyball team. He was appointed to the post in the spring of 2010.

Clements is no stranger to Division II volleyball, and comes to Mercy after being the head volleyball coach at Felician College in Rutherford, New Jersey.  He took over the program there in 2007, and in his first year, led the Golden Falcons into the conference championships.

Prior to Felician, the Fair Lawn, New Jersey, resident was the head coach at Bergen Community College where he won the NJCAA Region XIX regular season and tournament championship.  He was also feted as the Region XIX Coach of the Year.

In 2000, he took over one of the most successful high school girls volleyball programs in the state of New Jersey, at Fair Lawn High School.  He was the head coach for six years.  Additionally, he has been the varsity girl’s basketball head coach since 1999.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from David Lipscomb University (Nashville, Tenn.) in 1976.  He went on to earn a Master’s degree from Marygrove College (Detroit, Mich.) in Education, and a second Master's degree from Drake University in Sports Education.
