Volleyball Welcomes Six Newcomers for Fall 2017 Season

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Aug. 15, 2017) – Head Coach Georgia Efthalitsides and the Mercy College volleyball team welcome six newcomers to the team ahead of the Fall 2017 season. The Mavericks will look to this recruiting class to help lead them to the ECC Tournament.

The class, which is made up of three freshmen, one sophomore and two juniors, includes:

Fr. Courtney Gebhardt (Bloomingburg, N.Y./Pine Bush)
Jr. Neysha Gonzalez (Aguadilla, Puerto Rico/Monroe College)
So. Melissa Lamson-Lindsey (Sleepy Hollow, N.Y./Cheyney University)
Fr. Adriana Lopez-Soto (Gurabo, Puerto Rico/Notre Dame HS)
Jr. Kaitlyn Partridge (Corona, Calif./Mt. San Antonio College)
Fr. Nichole Rivera (Bayamon, Puerto Rico/Academia Discipulos de Cristo)

"I am looking forward to adding these six recruits to our roster. These additions coupled with seven returners will bring our MAVS to the next level of our program. I look forward to the continued growth of our volleyball program as we enter our season and future seasons to come," stated Efthalitsides.

Coach's Comments: "Neysha joins the Mavericks with two years of college experience. Coming in as our starting libero she will help contribute with the team's success based on her knowledge and anticipation of the game."

Melissa Lamson-Lindsey
Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.
Cheyney University

Coach's Comments: "Melissa joins the Mavericks with ten years of volleyball experience with one of those years playing at Cheyney University. Her years of experience will help contribute to our program."

Adriana Lopez-Soto
Gurabo, Puerto Rico
Notre Dame HS

Coach's Comments: "With her determination and dedication Adriana will assist the team with defense. She is expected to take control of the court in the coming year."

Kaitlyn Partridge
Corona, Calif.
Mt. San Antonio College

Coach's Comments: "Kaitlyn is another transfer joining the Mavericks! She is expected to contribute to the starting lineup as one of our power hitters. Her hard work and dedication will be shown on and off the court."

Coach's Comments: "Nichole brings the Mavericks a positive attitude to motivate the team along with her hard work and dedication to the sport. She will contribute and lead the team with our offense."
