Mercy Volleyball Supports & Promotes "DIG PINK" Initiative to Help Raise Breast Cancer Awareness
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Nov. 2, 2011) - For the past two weeks, the Mercy College volleyball team has helped support and promote breast cancer awareness through the NCAA and East Coast Conference's "DIG PINK" initiative. In their matches against the University of D.C. and C.W. Post, the Mavericks wore various pink-colored apparel and gear to help spread the word.
The players wore pink headbands, armbands, shoelaces and t-shirts in an effort to promote awareness for this horrific disease. "Mav the Mercy College Mascot" also joined in on the fun as it was seen running, dancing and cheering around the gymnasium during these two matches. Mav proudly supported the cause by donning a pink scarf.
