Reggie Pantophlet Named Head Women's Volleyball Coach at Mercy

DOBBS FERRY, NY - Reggie Pantophlet has been appointed head women's volleyball coach at Mercy College, Director of Athletics Pat Kennedy announced on Wednesday. He will step into his new role effective immediately.
"I am very excited to have Reggie step in as our new head women's volleyball coach," Kennedy said. "He is energetic, possesses great knowledge about the game and is committed to our student-athletes."
Pantophlet brings a wealth of coaching experience at several levels of amateur volleyball, spanning 14 years. He began at the high school level, spending a combined seven years and Whippany Park High School and Dover High School in New Jersey.
Pantophlet moved on to Ramapo College, a NCAA Division III program, where he served as head coach for five seasons (1998-2002). During his stint with the Road Runners, Pantophlet guided his squad to three undefeated conference runs, capturing three conference championships. He also earned a Coach of the Year (2000) honor along the way.
Pantophlet then spent one year as head coach at nearby Division II program Pace University, directing his squad to a fifth place regular season finish in the Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10) and a spot in the NE-10 Conference Tournament. He also served as an assistant at Division II Dominican College in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC).
During his career, Pantophlet has also coached at the club level, working with the Junior Olympics for the past eight years. In 2008, he began his own 18 and under program that competes in the Garden Empire Volleyball Association.
Pantophlet, a native of Curacao, Netherlands Antilles, is an avid club volleyball player himself, competing for the past seven years on the hard court, beach circuit and grass. He is also a certified personal trainer.
Pantophlet is a 1991 graduate of East Stroudsburg University. He earned a Bachelor's of Science in Physical Education with a concentration in adult fitness. He and his wife have two children, a daughter Lilliane (5) and a son Mason (3).
