Women’s Soccer Loses to Dowling in Season Finale, 7-1
BROOKHAVEN, N.Y. (Oct. 29, 2011) – On Saturday afternoon, the Mercy College women’s soccer team ended the 2011 season with a 7-1 defeat at the hands of East Coast Conference-nemesis Dowling College. With the win, the Golden Lions improved to 12-5-1 overall and 5-1-1 in the league. Following the loss, the Mavericks dropped to 3-13 on the year and 1-6 in the ECC.

Women’s Soccer Blanked by Georgian Court, 2-0
LAKEWOOD, N.J. (Oct. 20, 2011) – On Thursday afternoon, the Mercy College women’s soccer squad traveled down to Lakewood, N.J. to take on Georgian Court University looking to get back on the winning track after dropping a tight match to C.W. Post on Saturday. The Lions, however, denied the Mavericks that opportunity as Georgian Court was victorious, 2-0.

Women's Soccer Drops ECC-Contest Versus NYIT, 4-0
OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (Oct. 8, 2011) - On Saturday afternoon, the Mercy College women's soccer team was shutout by East Coast Conference-opponent New York Institute of Technology, 4-0 in Old Westbury, N.Y. Following the day's action, NYIT improved to 6-5 overall and 1-3 in the league, while Mercy fell to 2-10 overall and 1-4 in the ECC.

Women’s Soccer Plays ECC-Foe Molloy Strong; Edged Out, 2-1
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Oct. 6, 2011) – On Thursday afternoon, the Mercy College women’s soccer squad squared off against East Coast Conference-opponent Molloy College looking to even up its league ledger at 2-2. The Mavericks were close on many late-game shots, but in the end came up short as the Lions won, 2-1. With the win, Molloy improved to 7-4 overall and 3-1 in the conference. With the loss, Mercy fell to 2-9 on the season (1-3 ECC).

(Oct. 3, 2011) – On a rainy Monday afternoon, the Mercy College women’s soccer squad stumbled in its East Coast Conference match against Queens College, 3-0 at Mavericks Field in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. With the win, the Knights improved to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in the league. Following the defeat, the Mavericks fell to 2-8 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

Karras Leads Women’s Soccer Past St. Thomas Aquinas in ECC Battle, 3-1
HILLBURN, N.Y. (Oct. 1, 2011) – The Mercy College women’s soccer team’s East Coast Conference contest versus St. Thomas Aquinas College was moved to the Torne Valley Sports Complex in Hillburn, N.Y. on Saturday evening because of bad field conditions on Mavericks Field. With two goals in the game, Mercy sophomore midfielder Jackie Karras (Nesconset, N.Y.) guided the Mavericks past the Spartans, 3-1, for their first league victory of the season.

ALBANY, N.Y. (Sept. 27, 2011) - On Tuesday evening, the Mercy College women's soccer team was shutout by the ninth-ranked College of Saint Rose, 8-0 in Albany, N.Y. With the win, the Golden Knights improved to 9-0-1 overall. Following the defeat, the Mavericks dropped to 1-7 on the year.

(Sept. 27, 2011) - The East Coast Conference sparring between Queens College and Mercy College, originally set for September 24, has been re-scheduled for Monday, October 3 at 4:00 p.m. at Mavericks Field. This past weekend, the contest was postponed due to inclement weather and bad field conditions.

Women’s Soccer Battles Hard, Falls to Bridgeport in Tight Match, 2-0
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Sept. 17, 2011) – Opening up East Coast Conference action for the 2011 season, the Mercy College women’s soccer squad took to Mavericks Field versus the University of Bridgeport. The Mavericks were able to hold the Purple Knights’ potent offense scoreless in the second half, but Bridgeport was able to find the back of the netting twice before halftime and that would end up being all they needed for the victory in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. on Saturday afternoon.

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Sept. 13, 2011) – On Tuesday afternoon, the Mercy College women’s soccer team played an outstanding game versus a 3-1 squad in Bentley University. The Mavericks defeated the Falcons, 1-0, to earn their first victory of 2011. With the win, the Mavericks improved to 1-4 overall. Following the loss, the Falcons dropped to 3-2 on the year.

Women’s Soccer Defeated by Saint Leo in Weather-Shortened Contest, 8-0
TAMPA, Fla. (Sept. 9, 2011) – On Friday afternoon, the Mercy College women’s soccer team fell to Saint Leo University, 8-0, at the University of Tampa in Tampa, Fla. The contest was halted in the 70th minute of play as weather conditions worsened. The 8-0 outcome is an NCAA final score. With the win, the Lions improved to 3-0 overall. Following the loss, the Mavericks dropped to 0-3 to start the season.

The Mavericks held their own for most of the first half, but ultimately succumbed to the Owls’ relentless attack.

The Mavericks lost to the Ravens, 3-1, to drop to 0-1 overall. Franklin Pierce improved to 1-0 on the young season.
