Mercy Women's Soccer Falls at Dominican
The Mercy College women’s soccer team could not overcome a
pair of first-half
Dominican College goals and lost a non-conference matchup 2-0
today, in a game played in Rockland County. Mercy falls to 1-2-0
while Dominican improves to 2-0.
Freshman Olivia Antonopoulos netted both goals for the Chargers. Her first goal came in the 20th minute on a shot from inside the 18-yard line. Her second goal came from inside five yards.
Mavericks keeper Stephanie DiLegge (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) made four saves, as did Charger keeper Kari Spicer.
Freshman Jackie Karras (Nesconset, N.Y./Smithtown East) led Mercy with four shots, two of which were on goal.
Mercy returns to action on Tuesday, September 14, playing at Post University. The game against Dowling, originally scheduled for Saturday, September 11, has been rescheduled to September 19.
