Mercy College Outscored By Molloy 4-1

Despite late-game scoring, Mavericks overcome.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – The Mercy College women’s soccer team lost 4-1 at Molloy College on Saturday at the Dean Skelos Complex. With the loss, the Mavericks are 1-5 overall and 0-2 in the East Coast Conference. Molloy advances to 4-6 and 2-0 in the league.

Junior Delmara Reece (Yonkers, N.Y) scored the lone goal for the Mavericks in the 75th minute of play unassisted with a breakaway toward the Molloy goal.

Mercy College rookie goalkeeper Stephanie DiLegge (Bay Shore, N.Y.) only allowed one Molloy goal before she had to leave the game with an injury. Molloy only scored once more in the first half, a minute after the DiLegge left the game (25:48).

The Mavericks were only down 2-0 at halftime, however, Molloy scored in the opening minutes of the second half to take a 3-0 lead.

Reece broke the three-goal lead with her second goal of the season at 75:08.

Molloy scored three minutes later to secure the 4-1 win over Mercy College.

The Mercy College women’s soccer team is back in action on Monday, Oct. 5 with a home contest against Bloomsfield at 3 p.m.
