Queens Tops Mercy Women's Soccer 4-0
FLUSHING, NY - The
Mercy College women's soccer team was defeated by East Coast
Conference (ECC) opponent Queens College by a score of 4-0 on
Wednesday.
Queens (8-2, 1-1 ECC) got going in the 13th minute with a header
into the right side of the net by Christina Cascio. Cascio struck
again in the 19th minute on a pass by Katherine Colon from the
right side into the crease. Cascio took the pass from Colon and
deposited into the net. Mercy (1-4-1, 0-3-1 ECC) trailed 2-0 after
the first half.
In the second half the Knights got a goal from Christina Salameh in
the 78th minute and Andrea Slavin in the 82nd minute to end the
scoring.
Freshman goalkeeper Jackie Roebuck (Walden, NY)
notched seven saves.
The Mavericks will be back in action on Tuesday, October 14 when
Mercy hosts Concordia at 4:00 p.m.
