Casey Kondelka

Mercy's Casey Kondelka Named to Women's Soccer All-ECC Third Team

DOBBS FERRY, NY - Mercy College women's soccer player Casey Kondelka (Bloomingburg, NY/Pine Bush) has been named to the All-East Cost Conference (ECC) Third Team, the league announced on Sunday.

A sophomore defender, Kondelka has anchored the Mavericks' backfield for two years, playing and starting in 25 games.  A converted midfielder, she has a tremendous ability to read the game, excellent technical skills and leadership qualities.  This year Kondelka helped the improving Mercy defense post a 4-2 win over Concordia on October 13, and a 2-1 victory versus Felician on October 25.

Mercy finished the year at 2-10 overall and 1-9 in ECC play.  First year Head Coach Joseph Mendonca will return 10 starters from this year's squad in 2008.
