No. 13 C.W. Post Tops Mercy College Women's Soccer
BROOKVILLE, NY - The Mercy College women's soccer team dropped an 8-0 decision to host C.W. Post, ranked No. 13 in the nation, on Tuesday. The Mavericks are now 0-2 overall and 0-2 in the East Coast Conference (ECC), while the Pioneers improved to 5-1-2 overall and 1-1 in ECC play.
C.W. Post notched its first goal in the 23rd minute when freshman midfielder Ivana Babic converted a cross from sophomore forward Melissa Pascarella. Sophomore forward Nicole Dabe tallied the second goal on a rebound off a shot from freshman Jackie Sousa in the 36th minute to give the Pioneers a 2-0 lead.
The Pioneers went on to score six more unanswered goals off the Mavericks in the second frame.
Mercy will return to action on Saturday, September 29, in another ECC contest at Molloy, beginning at Noon.
