Mercy Women's Soccer Defeated by Adelphi,
4-0 
GARDEN CITY, NY- The Mercy College women's soccer team fell to Adelphi 4-0, in East Coast Conference (ECC) play on Monday, October 23. Mercy is now 2-13-0 overall and 2-7-0 in the ECC. Adelphi improved to 12-1-4 overall and 7-1-2 in ECC play.
Adelphi scored three goals in the first nine minutes of play. The first came in the fourth minute of play when Denise Auer (Holbrook, NY) scored. Lauren Lopez (Farmingville, NY) netted the second goal of the half at the 6:05 mark. The Panthers scored again less than three minutes later, this time it was Caitlin Morrison (Beacon, NY) converting for Adelphi.
The Panthers were able to add one more goal to their total in the second half. Karen Roveto (Old Bethpage, NY) crossed the ball into the box where Melissa Fulgenzi (New Hyde Park, NY) was about to score.
Mercy's seniors Chioma Egbuchunam (Lagos, Nigeria) and Khadijah Khan (Montreal, Canada) both saw action in net for the Flyers. Egbuchunam played just over 53 minutes, recording three saves and Khan finished the rest of the contest recording one save. Christine Conway (Rockville Centre, NY) and Tara Grodotzke (Rocky Point, NY) each played goalkeeper for a half for Adelphi. Conway recorded one save for the Panthers.
Mercy will be back in action again tomorrow, October 24, in their season finale. The Flyers play host to NYIT, kick-off is set of 3:30p.m.
