Mercy Women's Soccer Defeated by C.W. Post, 2-0

            DOBBS FERRY, NY- The Mercy women's soccer team fell 2-0 to C.W. Post on Saturday, September 30.  Mercy dropped to 1-7-0 overall and 1-3-0 in East Coast Conference (ECC) play, while C.W. Post improved to 6-2-1 overall and 4-0-1 in the ECC.

            C.W. Post's Meaghan Glibowski (Holbrook, NY) netted the game's first goal less than a minute into the contest.  She received the ball five yards in front of the net from Lauren Kelly (Lakewood, NJ) and converted.  C.W. Post scored once more in the half at the 17:48 mark, taking a 2-0 lead in the contest.  Mercy committed a foul in the top of the box and Tracy Foraker (Hauppauge, NY) took the penalty shot for the Pioneers, placing her shot in the top right corner of the net.  Neither team scored after that point in the match.

            Becky Pelow (Mexico, NY) finished with four saves for the Flyers and Kim Yacenda (Greenlawn, NY) recorded two saves for C.W. Post. 

            Mercy will be back in action again on Monday, October 2, at Bridgeport. Kick-off is set for 3:30 pm.
