On October 10, 2012, Mercy College Director of Athletics Pat Kennedy announced that Dawn Anselmin was named Assistant Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator for the department. In addition, Anselmin will also serve as the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach for the Mavericks.
Anselmin joins Mercy with an impressive record of both coaching and playing. As a coach, Anselmin most recently led the Plainedge High School Varsity girl’s lacrosse team to an 11-5 record and No. 5 county ranking in 2012. She also coached the JV lacrosse team for two years and continues to coach the Middle School Eighth Grade soccer squad. Prior to her time with Plainedge, she served as an assistant coach on Wantagh High School Varsity girl’s lacrosse team, which ranked No. 2 in the county with a 13-3 record in 2009. She also currently coaches the Long Island Wave Summer Lacrosse club.
Anselmin has also led a number of other extracurricular activities such as the Plainedge High School Team Insanity Workouts, Backpack Pilates, “Dancing With the District,” Weight Room Intramurals and Wantagh High School’s Physical Education Leaders Club.
She has attended the US Lacrosse Convention, the PE and Health Consortium and Leadership Conferences as both a teacher and coach representative.
Anselmin was a member of the 2004 and 2006 NCAA Division II Women’s Lacrosse National Champions with Adelphi University, earning All-America and All-North Regional honors as an attackman in 2005 and 2006. She ranks 13th all-time for assists in a single season in Division II and was an NCAA All-Rookie Team selection in her freshman year (2003).
Anselmin has also seen success on the teaching front. She has spent the past year as the Recreation Specialist at Wheeler Avenue Elementary School while coaching the Plainedge High School Varsity lacrosse team. She has also served as a Resident Substitute Teacher at Plainedge High School, a Physical Education teacher at Eastplain Elementary School and Wantagh High School and a Health Education/Physical Education teacher at Plainedge High School.
Anselmin graduated from Adelphi in 2006 with a bachelor of science degree in physical education and health education and went on to earn a master of science degree in health education in 2009. She currently resides in Lynbrook, N.Y.

On October 11, 2012, Jillian Maricondo was named the Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach and Equipment Manager at Mercy College, as announced by Director of Athletics Pat Kennedy.
Maricondo has a unique background in lacrosse, having served as the Uganda, Africa women’s national team head coach since May. In this position she showed a strong commitment to advancing the impoverished country through education, meaningful relationships, spirited enthusiasm and sports, as well as traveling to seven school districts to promote social justice for girls through the empowerment of education and sports. She has also served as the PAL girl's lacrosse head coach and is currently a girls basketball coach at the McArthur High School Basketball Summer Camp.
Prior to her coaching career, Maricondo was a member of the LIU Brooklyn women’s lacrosse team, serving as captain and earning the Blackbird Award, as well as the cross country and track & field squads. She was a recipient of "Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities" Award, named to the Dean’s List and was a four-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She most recently played as a post-graduate student with the New York Athletic Club women’s lacrosse team, sharing the field with World Cup USA team members.
Maricondo graduated from Long Island University - Brooklyn with a bachelor’s degree in urban childhood education in 2010 and went on to earn her masters in elementary special education in 2012.
She currently resides in Levittown, N.Y.
