DiFusco and DellaRocca Selected to Play in IWLCA North/South Senior All-Star Game

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (May 26, 2017) – Mercy College women's lacrosse seniors Tori DiFusco (Mahopac, N.Y./SUNY Cortland) and Melissa DellaRocca (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) have been selected to participate in the 2017 IWLCA Division II North/South All-Star Game. The game will take place on Tierney Field at US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 12:45 p.m. Admission for the game is free of charge. The game will also be web-streamed live on IWLCA-tv.com.

DiFusco and DellaRocca become the third and fourth Mavericks to participate in the game, following Meg McNally from last season and Stephanie DiLegge in 2013. A total of 132 seniors were selected to play across all three divisions. The duo helped lead Mercy to a school-record 16 wins and the program's first-ever berth into the NCAA Tournament.

DiFusco ended the 2017 campaign with 29 goals and 14 assists for 43 points on the year. The midfielder started all 20 games and also recorded 22 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers. DiFusco recorded a season-high-tying six points in wins over Caldwell and UDC, producing a season-high five goals in the 18-2 victory over the Cougars on March 27th. DiFusco ends her career as a Maverick with 43 goals, 62 points, 42 ground balls and 26 caused turnovers in 47 games.

DellaRocca was a Second Team All-ECC selection and concluded her career with 33 caused turnovers and 15 ground balls. The defender ranked second on the team and in the ECC in caused turnovers. The senior made 19 starts and had a season-high five caused turnovers in the Mavericks season-opening win over Indianapolis on February 24th. DellaRocca finishes her Mercy career with seven goals, 86 ground balls, 100 caused turnovers and 37 draw controls.
