Hurley and Znaniecki Named to ECC Women’s Lacrosse Honor Roll for Second Consecutive Week

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (April 30, 2012) – Mercy College women's lacrosse junior attacker Marissa Hurley (Shirley, N.Y.) and sophomore attacker Kristen Znaniecki (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) were named to the East Coast Conference Honor Roll for Week Nine, the ECC office announced today.

This is the second consecutive appearance on the Honor Roll for both players, who helped lead Mercy to a pair of victories this week that stretch the Mavericks' winning streak to five games.

Hurley scored nine goals and made on assist over the two games while Znaniecki recorded five goals and four assists.  Hurley added five ground balls and one caused turnover as Znaniecki picked up three ground balls and added caused one turnover.

The awards are the sixth and seventh accolades the team has received this week, along with junior goalkeeper Stephanie DiLegge (Bay Shore, N.Y.)'s Goalkeeper of the Week award this week.

Head Coach Francesca DeLorenzo will lead Hurley, Znaniecki and the rest of the Mavericks (6-7 overall, 3-3 in the ECC) will look to extend their five-game winning streak as they travel to conference-leading No. 5 C.W. Post (13-2, 6-0) tomorrow, Tuesday, April 30. Start time is set for 4:00 p.m.
