Stephanie DiLegge Debuts in Top 3 in Division II
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (April 16, 2012) – Mercy College women's lacrosse junior goalkeeper Stephanie DiLegge (Bay Shore, N.Y.) ranks third in all of Division II with a .547 save percentage. She also ranks fifth in Division II in saves per game with 12.5.
Having missed the first two games of the season recovering from injury, DiLegge did not qualify for the rankings until last week. She has steadily improved her play since her return, most recently making a whopping 20 saves against East Coast Conference rival Queens College, which received votes in the most recent IWLCA rankings.
DiLegge also finished last year, her first season in net, ranked third in save percentage. She has caused 15 turnovers and picked up 16 ground balls, which ranks third on the team, this season.
Head Coach Francesca DeLorenzo will lead DiLegge and the rest of the Mavericks (1-7) against Kutztown University (4-9) tomorrow, Tuesday, April 17 at 4:00 p.m. on Mavericks Field.
