ECC Releases Women's Basketball Polls
The East Coast Conference has released its 2010-2011 preseason women's basketball poll, and Mercy College is predicted to finish eighth in the eight-team Conference. The poll was generated by voting of the coaches in the Conference.
The C.W. Post women's basketball team was selected as the preseason favorite. Finishing second in the rankings is Molloy College, followed by St. Thomas Aquinas in third.
C.W. Post also is at the top of the Preseason Player of the Year poll, with senior guard Janea Aiken receiving the honor.
Under the tutelage of second year head coach Kelli Dunlay, the Mavericks open the regular season at the Dominican College Tip-Off Tournament against the host Chargers on Nov. 12.
