Kelli Dunlay

Dunlay becomes the Mavericks’ 13th women’s basketball coach since 1963.

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y.  – Mercy College Director of Athletics Pat Kennedy announced the appointment of Kelli Dunlay as the Mavericks’ 13th head women’s basketball coach in program history.

“Kelli will provide a seamless transition for the women's basketball team," said Kennedy. "Her knowledge of the game, recruiting contacts, and maturity will move Mercy's already strong women's basketball program further into a new era of success. Her familiarity and experience in the East Coast Conference is an added bonus. The addition to Kelli to our program is another way to show that the Mercy Mavericks are on the Move!”

“I'm looking forward to the opportunity of coaching at Mercy College and working with such a great group of young women,” Dunlay said. “We have a tremendous amount of talent, and with hard work and dedication, I am confident that we can achieve any goal we set forth in front of us.”

A veteran to the ECC, Dunlay joins the Mavericks following a season as an assistant coach at Adelphi University and two years as an assistant at St. Thomas Aquinas College. In these roles, she organized and scheduled daily practices and workouts, assisted with recruiting and oversaw the preparation for home and away games. She also specialized in the development of post players and assisted with team promotions, sponsorships, and alumni relations.

An Adelphi alumna, Dunlay played for the Panthers from 1989-93, where she was a four-year starter. She led the team in both scoring and rebounding during both her junior and senior seasons. Dunlay was also a two-time All-Conference selection and is still ranked fifth all-time in scoring with 1,288 career points. She earned a pair of MVP awards and is the program’s record holder for points in a game with 36.

Dunlay is also a technical fit and design consultant in the full figure apparel industry. She is a 1993 graduate of Adelphi University with a bachelor’s degree in Education. Dunlay also went on to earn a master’s degree in sports management from Adelphi. She currently resides in Valley Cottage, N.Y.
