Three Mavericks score 11 points each.
MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Mercy College women’s basketball team traveled to Manchester, N.H. for a two-day holiday tournament hosted by Saint Anselm of the Northeast 10. On the first day of the tournament, the Mavericks lost 81-41 to host Saint Anselm at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium.
Junior Delmara Reece (Yonkers, N.Y./Saunders), junior Ashley Borofsky (Southington, Conn./Southington) and sophomore Jasmine Williams (Stratford, Conn./Greens Farms Academy) each scored 11 points to tally 33 of the Mavericks’ 41 points.
Williams shot 3-for-5 from the field and 5-for-6 from the free throw line.
Reece once again led the Mavericks in rebounding with eight.
With the non-conference loss, the Mavericks fall to 3-6 overall on the season. Saint Anselm advances to 3-6 overall. Megan Howard led Saint Anselm with 19 points and added 10 rebounds. Courtney May led Saint Anselm with 13 boards.
The Mavericks will be back in action and will look to rebound from their loss on Wednesday when Mercy College will face Franklin Pierce on Dec. 30 at 5 p.m.
