DOBBS FERRY, NY - The Mercy College women's basketball team (10-17, 7-11 ECC) will be making its first playoff appearance since the 2001-02 season when it travels to Dowling on Wednesday, March 4 for a quarterfinal tilt at 5:00 p.m. The Mavericks' 10 wins are the most for the program since Michele Coyle's 1996-97 squad finished 13-13.

Third year head coach Ashlee Kelly's squad earned the seventh seed while the Golden Lions (20-7, 14-4) enter as the number two seed.  Mercy College is led by senior guard Christina Baxter (Greenwood Lake, NY) who averaged 16.2 points per game (5th in ECC) and led the conference with 6.1 assists per game during the regular season. Sophomore forward Delmara Reece (Yonkers, NY) averages a double-double with 11.7 points per game and 11.7 rebounds per game, good for third in the ECC.

Mercy will be looking for its first win over Dowling this season. The Golden Lions took a 91-63 decision on their home court back on December 6, and held off a late comeback bid by the Mavericks to go away with an 86-76 win on February 4 in Dobbs Ferry.
