Mercy College Women's Basketball Announces 2007-08 Non-Conference Slate
Trip to Carolinas, tilts with NE-10 programs highlight schedule
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. - Mercy College Head Women's Basketball Coach Ashlee Kelly has announced the Mavericks' non-conference schedule for the 2007-08 season. A total of seven games, including a trip through the Carolinas and contests with Northeast 10 Conference schools highlight this year's slate. All non-conference games will be played on the road.
Mercy will tip-off the campaign at the DoubleTree Doc Jacobs Classic hosted by Northeast-10 Conference foe Saint Michael's. The Mavericks will first take on Franklin Pierce on November 17, followed by the host Purple Knights on November 18.
The Mavericks will square off against Central Atlantic
Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent Nyack College on November 20,
before opening East Coast Conference (ECC) play during the final
week of November (full ECC schedule TBA). They will resume
non-conference action on December 15 at another CACC foe Felician,
and close out the calendar year with a trip south to take on
Newberry (SC) on December 29, and North Carolina Central on
December 30. Mercy's final non-conference tilt of the year
will take place on February 20, at one more CACC foe, Caldwell.
"We are very excited to open up against two of the top programs in
the NE-10," said Kelly. "Our non-conference schedule is challenging
and is what we need to get us ready for league play. We will
definitely have a chance to sharpen our skills against some of the
best on the East coast."
