Mariola St. Fleur Earns All-ECC Volleyball Third Team Honors
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. - Mercy College women's volleyball player Mariola St. Fleur (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) has been named to the All-East Coast Conference (ECC) Third Team for the second straight season. The league announced its award winners at the tournament banquet on Friday.
St. Fleur, a 6-foot right side player, led the Mavericks in kills with 338, averaging 3.56 per game, and in blocks with 52, averaging 0.55 per game. She also ranked second on the squad with a .191 attack percentage and added 251 digs.
St. Fleur posted double-digit kills in 19 matches and double-digit digs in 10 matches. Earlier this year she knocked down a career-high 32 kills against Philadelphia University. St. Fleur finished her career ranked seventh all-time at Mercy with 1,225 career kills, 11th with 1,014 digs, and ninth with 207 blocks.
Mercy finished the year 9-17 overall, making a five-win improvement on 2006. The Mavericks will return six letterwinners for the 2008 campaign.
