Mercy's Shedeiky Hamilton Earns Second ECC Volleyball Rookie of the Week Honor

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. -  Mercy College freshman volleyball player Shedeiky Hamilton (Yallahs, Jamaica) has been selected as the Baden East Coast Conference (ECC) Co-Rookie of the Week, sharing the award with Maddy Lorenz of Concordia.  It marks the second time this season that Hamilton has received the honor.

Hamilton, a 5-foot-9 middle hitter, helped the Mavericks (9-15, 1-6 ECC) to a 2-0 week with a .438 attack percentage, collecting 17 kills while making only three errors in 32 attempts. She also added nine digs and one block solo. 

Hamilton registered nine kills, one ace, and seven digs in Mercy's 3-0 victory at Post University and then posted eight kills, two digs, and a block in a 3-1 win over Molloy.  Hamilton leads the Mavericks with a .208 attack percentage on the year, and 0.55 blocks per game.

The Mavericks will close out the 2007 regular season with their final home match versus Adelphi on Tuesday, October 30, and travel to C.W. Post on Thursday, November 1.
