Mercy College Volleyball Rolls Past Post 3-0
WATERBURY, CT - Sophomore Diana Bruzzone (Guayaquil, Ecuador) registered a double-double and senior Mariola St. Fleur (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) had a double-digit kill outing to lift the Mercy College women's volleyball team to a 3-0 win over host Post University on Tuesday.
The Mavericks (8-15) opened up with a 30-25 win in the first game, followed by a 30-22 decision in game two, and closed it out 30-14 in the third game to put away the Eagles (7-18).
Bruzzone led all players with 13 kills and 12 digs to go along with three service aces. St. Fleur recorded 11 kills and picked up eight digs. Junior setter Trevene Smith (Montego Bay, Jamaica) put up a match-high 38 assists and chipped in six digs. Senior Natalee Carty (Kingston, Jamaica) posted seven kills, seven digs, and six aces. Freshman Shedeiky Hamilton (Yallahs, Jamaica) added nine kills and seven digs.
Mercy will return to action on Thursday, October 25, at home versus Molloy beginning at 7:00 p.m.
