Maverick Volleyball Falls at Queens 3-1

FLUSHING, NY - The Mercy College women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision at host Queens College in East Coast Conference (ECC) play on Thursday.  The Mavericks are now 6-12 overall and 0-5 in the ECC.

After Mercy won the opening game 30-22, the Knights ran off wins in the next three frames, 30-26, 30-24, and 30-22, to seal the decision.

Sophomore Diana Bruzzone (Guayaquil, Ecuador) paced the Mavericks with 17 kills and 16 digs in the match. Senior Mariola St. Fleur (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) added 14 kills and senior Natalee Carty (Kingston, Jamaica) posted a team-high 18 digs.  Junior Trevene Smith (Montego Bay, Jamaica) registered 44 assists.

Mercy will be back at Queens for a tournament on Friday, October 12, and Saturday, October 13.
