Mercy Volleyball Defeated at Dowling 3-0

OAKDALE, NY - The Mercy College women's volleyball team fell 3-0 at Dowling in an East Coast Conference (ECC) match on Tuesday.  The Mavericks are now 5-9 overall and 0-3 in ECC play, while the Golden Lions improved to 16-7 overall and 2-0 in conference action.

Dowling took the first game by a score of 30-21, followed by a 30-7 win in game two, and put it away 30-23 in game three.

Senior Mariola St. Fleur (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) led Mercy with a match-high 10 kills and added four digs. Freshman Shedeiky Hamilton (Yallahs, Jamaica) added seven kills, and sophomore Diana Bruzzone (Guayaquil, Ecuador) chipped in six kills.

Kyla Muela and Justyna Michon posted nine kills each for Dowling, while Marina Markoviv added seven. Jessica Gall recorded a match-high 19 digs, and Erin Przbylowitz put up a match-high 32 assists.

The Mavericks will return to action at NYIT on Thursday, October 4, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
