Mercy's Shedeiky Hamilton Named ECC Volleyball Rookie of the Week
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. - Mercy College freshman volleyball player Shedeiky Hamilton (Yallahs, Jamaica) has been selected as the East Coast Conference (ECC) Rookie of the Week. The league announced its weekly award winners on Monday.
A 5-foot-9 middle hitter, Hamilton was a standout averaging 3.12 kills per game (25 total), while making only four errors in 46 attempts for a .457 attack percentage last week. She also added six service aces and three blocks.
Hamilton hit .417 (6-1-12) and tied a career-high with four aces in a loss to Bridgeport. She followed with a .471 outing (19-3-34) and added a pair of aces against New Haven.
Mercy will return to action on Tuesday, October 2, at Dowling, and then travel to NYIT on Thursday, October 4.
