Mercy College Volleyball Falls to Bryant and St. Leo's;
St. Fleur Named to All-Tournament Team
SMITHFIELD, RI - The Mercy College women's volleyball team dropped a pair of 3-0 decisions at the Bryant Invitational on Saturday, falling to host Bryant and St. Leo's. Senior Mariola St. Fleur (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) was named to the All-Tournament team for the Mavericks. Mercy is now 5-5 on the year.
St. Leo's defeated Mercy by scores of 30-15, 30-20, and 30-24. Senior Natalee Carty (Kingston, Jamaica) posted seven kills in the match with Shedeiky Hamilton (Yallahs, Jamaica) adding six.
Mercy fell to Bryant 30-23, 30-20, and 30-20, in the final match. Hamilton recorded 11 kills and two blocks. Carty registered nine kills and nine digs, while St. Fleur posted 11 kills, 11 digs, two blocks and 12 assists.
Mercy will host Southern Connecticut State on Tuesday in its home-opener. The match will be played at the Mercy College Gymnasium beginning at 7:00 p.m.
