Mavericks Fall at Saint Rose in Non-Conference Volleyball, 3-1
ALBANY, NY - The Mercy College women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision at the hands of The College of Saint Rose on Wednesday. The Mavericks' win streak came to an end at five as they fell to 5-2 on the year. The host Golden Knights improved to 6-2.
After falling in the first game by a score of 30-21, Mercy took a 30-28 decision in game two, but Saint Rose put the match away with 30-23 and 30-21 scores in the next two games.
Sophomore Diana Bruzzone (Guayaquil, Ecuador) led the Mercy attack with 14 kills on the night and added 13 digs. Senior Mariola St. Fleur (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) chipped in 10 kills, 14 digs, three service aces, and five total blocks. Senior Natalee Carty (Kingston, Jamaica) collected seven kills and a team-high 15 digs.
Mercy will return to action this weekend with three matches at the Bryant Invitational.
