Mercy Volleyball Upends Bloomfield 3-1 in Season Finale

           DOBBS FERRY, NY - The Mercy College women's volleyball team topped visiting Bloomfield in its season finale on Saturday, October 28.  After losing the first game 30-20, the Flyers bounced back to win the next three games of the match 30-23, 30-28, 30-24.  The Flyers finished the season with a 4-18 overall record, while the Deacons fell to 14-7.  

            Mercy had three players record double-doubles in the win. Freshman outside hitter Diana Bruzzone (Guayaquil, Ecuador) led all players with 20 kills, making only seven errors in 42 attempts.  She also added 15 digs and a pair of service aces.  Senior Mariola St. Fleur (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) knocked down 19 kills and collected 18 digs for Mercy, while sophomore Natalee Carty (Kingston, Jamaica) registered 15 kills and 12 digs. Senior setter Melissa Baccari (Rego Park, NY) put up a match-high 54 assists. Junior Rose Harper (Croton, NY) recorded 13 digs and six kills.

            Junior outside hitter Nilmara Zanette (Brazil) led Bloomfield with 13 kills and 11 digs. Sophomore Celeste Lindsey (Cincinnati, OH) registered 11 kills for the Deacons.
