Mercy Volleyball Drops 3-1 Decision at Concordia

          BRONXVILLE, NY - The Mercy College women's volleyball team dropped a four-game decision at Concordia on Tuesday, October 24.  Mercy (3-17, 0-8 ECC) won the first game 30-27, but the Clippers (8-15, 1-7 ECC) took the next three, 31-29, 30-28, and 30-27.

            Senior outside hitter Mariola St. Fleur (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) led the Flyers' attack with a .429 hitting percentage, recording 18 kills.  Fellow senior Natalee Carty (Kingston, Jamaica), registered 16 kills with a .237 hitting percentage.  Freshman outside hitter Diana Bruzzone (Guayaquil, Ecuador) added 17 kills for the Flyers.  The trio posted 18, 23, and 31 digs respectively.  Senior setter Melissa Baccari (Rego Park, NY) recorded 57 assists, four digs, three service aces, and one block for Mercy.  The Flyers' overall team hitting percentage for the match was .236.

            Tiffany Edwards led the way for the Clippers registering 18 kills.  Cindy Eckard added 14 kills and 10 digs, while Kristina Bennett had 39 assists for Concordia.

            Mercy is back in action again on Thursday, October 26, at home versus Dowling in an ECC match beginning at 7:00 p.m.
