Adelphi Defeats Mercy Women's Volleyball, 3-0
GARDEN CITY, NY - The Mercy College women's volleyball team fell by a score of 3-0 (30-27,30-17,30-28) at Adelphi on Tuesday, October 17. The Flyers are now 3-15 overall and 0-6 in East Coast Conference (ECC) play, while Adelphi improved to 13-9 overall and 4-3 in league action.
Mariola St. Fleur (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) and Natalee Carty (Kingston, Jamaica) led the Mercy offense with seven kills apiece. Carty added eight digs, while St. Fleur picked up seven digs and a pair of blocks. Diana Bruzzone (Guayaquil, Ecuador) led the Mercy defense with 14 digs. She also chipped in five kills and tied a match-high with four service aces.
Adelphi's Deanna Maggio led all players with 12 digs and added 16 digs. Anna Gabbard posted 10 kills, and Brittany Addeo put up 36 assists and 12 digs.
Mercy is back in action again on Thursday, October 19, at home versus C.W. Post in an ECC match beginning at 7:00 p.m.
