Mercy Volleyball Drops 3-0 Decision to Queens
DOBBS FERRY, NY - The Mercy College women's volleyball team was defeated by visiting Queens College, 3-0 (30-25, 30-26, 30-8), in an East Coast Conference (ECC) match on Thursday, September 28. The Flyers dropped to 1-11 overall and 0-2 in league play, while Queens improved to 2-6 overall and 2-2 in the ECC.
Freshman Diana Bruzzone (Guayaquil, Ecuador) had team-highs of eight kills and 12 digs for Mercy. Senior Natalee Carty (Kingston, Jamaica) posted seven kills and eight digs for the Flyers, while senior Melissa Baccari (Rego Park, NY) recorded 19 assists.
Karin Sauer (Schleiden, Germany) led all players with 25 kills for Queens, while Natalie Edward (Castries, St. Lucia) added 12 kills, Mari Toivanen (Lieska, Finland) registered 14 digs and Dawn Richardson (Bristol, CT) put up 42 assists.
Mercy will return to action on Tuesday, October 3, at home versus New York Institute of Technology at 7:00 p.m.
