Mercy's Natalee Carty Named to All-Tournament Team at Bentley Tournament

        WALTHAM, MA - The Mercy College women's volleyball team dropped two matches at the Bentley Tournament on Saturday, September 16.  The Flyers fell to UMass Lowell and to host Bentley in three games each.  Mercy is now 1-6 on the year.

        In the first match of the day Mercy was defeated by UMass Lowell in three straight games, 30-18, 30-24, and 30-20.  The Flyers were led by Diana Bruzzone (Guayaquil, Ecuador) with 19 digs, Trevene Smith (Old Harbor, Jamaica) with 12 assists, and Mariola St. Fleur's (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) added nine kills.

        Mercy was defeated by the Falcons 3-0 (30-14, 30-17, 30-21), in their final match of the tournament.  . Natalee Carty (Kingston, Jamaica) had eight kills, as she earned a spot on the All-Tournament team.  Claudia Miller (Westmoreland, Jamaica) added nine kills, Bruzzone recorded 13 digs and Smith had 20 assists in the match.

        Mercy will begin conference play on Tuesday at Molloy.
