Mercy Volleyball Splits On Day One at Bryant Invitational
SMITHFIELD, RI - The Mercy College women's volleyball team defeated Saint Anselm College and fell to host Bryant on Friday night at the Bryant Invitational. The Flyers are now 1-2 this season.
In the first match of the invitational the Flyers earned their first win of the season in three straight games, 30-23, 30-17, and 30-22.
In the nightcap, Mercy fell to the Bulldogs, 3-0 (30-10, 30-22, and 30-22). Freshman Diana Bruzzone (Guayagil, Ecuador) led the way for the Flyers with seven kills and six digs. Mariola St. Fleur (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) recorded three kills and six digs for Mercy, while Claudia Miller (Westmoreland, Jamaica) had six kills, five digs, and one block, respectively.
Mercy will return to action on Saturday, September 9, at Bryant.
