Two Mavericks Compete At NCAA XC East Regional

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Mercy College junior Jamsel Reyes (Haverstraw, N.Y.) and rookie Efrain Arzola (Yonkers, N.Y.) competed at the NCAA Division II East Regional Championships on Sunday, Nov. 8 in Boston, Mass.
Reyes and Arzola competed in a field of 180 competitors. Reyes finished 122 with a time of 37:44.3, running a pace of 6:05 in the 10K, a career-best time for the junior. For Arzola, the championships were just his second race of the 2009 season. He last competed on Oct. 17 at the Albany Invitational. Arzola finished 162nd at the NCAA Regional meet with a time of 42:08.8.
For the 2009 Cross Country Mavericks, the season is over as they start to train for indoor and outdoor track & field season.
