DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – The Mercy College men’s cross country team competed at the annual Albany Invitational on Saturday.

The cold weather did not stop Maverick competitors Jamsel Reyes (Haverstraw, N.Y.) and rookie Efrain Arzola (Yonkers, N.Y.) from competing in the men’s purple race.

Reyes ran his second 8k race in six years and finished 78th out of 136 runners with a time of 29:05. He improved his time from last race by 31 seconds. Arzola ran his first-ever 8k race and finished with a time of 31:58.

The Mavericks are back in action at the East Coast Conference Championships in Bethlehem, N.Y. on Saturday, Oct. 24. With the competition high, the Mavericks will be bringing back freshman Cory Alvarado (Onteora, N.Y.), who has been sidelined so far this season due to a minor heel injury.
