Mercy College Runs at 2010 New York Relays
The Mercy College outdoor track and field team competed over the weekend at the 2010 New York Relays, held at historic Icahn Stadium on Randall's Island, N.Y.
The Mavericks had several student-athletes perform well. Highlights include:
Freshman Eleizer Riquelme placed second
in the 110-meter hurdles, with a time of 15.85. He was the highest
senior college finisher, finishing behind only a student-athlete
from Essex Community College. Additionally, he finished fourth in
the triple jump with a distance of 11.96 meters.
Freshman Cory Alvarado finished fourteenth in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:46.62.
In the long jump, twins Joon Yeob Lee and Joon Hoon Lee placed second and fourth, respectively, with distances of 6.10 and 5.58 meters.
Mercy returns to action next Sunday, April 25, at Yale's Springtime Invitational, held at the Dewitt-Cuyler Track in New Haven, Conn.
