Gibson Takes First in 800m to Begin Indoor Track & Field

RIVERDALE, NY - The Mercy College men's indoor track and field team got the 2008-09 season underway with a big finish on Monday at the Manhattan College Opener.
Senior Kevin Gibson (Buenos Aires, Argentina) led the way by taking first place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:23.8. Senior John Benvin (Thornwood, NY) was right behind him in second place at 2:24.8. Senior Daniel Reeves (Babylon, NY) finished at 2:28.1, placing fourth.
The Mavericks will return to action on Sunday, December 7 at the Collegiate Track Conference (CTC) Relay Carnival in New Haven, CT.
