Mercy College Cross Country Competes at NCAA Division II East

BOSTON, MA - The Mercy College cross country squads participated in the NCAA Division II East Region Championships on Sunday in Boston. The men finished 22nd as a team.
Senior Peter Yarema (Northport, NY) paced the men's squad, finishing the 10K course in a time of 35:05 to place 72nd out of 167 competitors. Senior Tom Cannariato (Goshen, NY) was next for the Mavericks, posting a time of 36:48, followed by senior John Benvin (Thornwood, NY) at 38:32, senior Issiaka Sow (Bamako, Mali) at 39:36, and senior Kevin Gibson (Buenos Aires, Argentina) at 43:06.
Senior Katelyn Klobus (Averill Park, NY) was the women's entrant for Mercy College, running the 6K race in a time of 27:13 to place 110th.
The Mavericks will return to action on Saturday, November 22, at the ECAC/IC4A Championships.
