Hunte Sets Record, Lee Wins Long Jump for Mercy College Track &
Field at Saint Peter's/NJIT Invitational

JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Mercy College men's outdoor track and field squad traveled to Jersey City, NJ for the Saint Peter's/NJIT Invitational on Saturday and turned in several promising early season performances.
Senior Dave Hunte (LaBrea, Trinidad and Tobago) lowered the school record in the 100-meter dash finishing in sixth at 11.51 seconds. Hunte was fifth in the long jump (5.64m) and 12th in the 200-meter dash (24.53).
Junior Craig Williams (Brooklyn, NY) was 10th in the 100-meter (11.93) and 10th in the 200-meter dash (24.44 seconds). Junior Jamsel Reyes (Monroe, NY) finished fourth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:03.58. Senior John Benvin (Thornwood, NY) was 18th in the 1500-meter run in a personal best of 4:47.27 and 20th in the 800-meter (2:27.58).
Sophomore Joon Yeob Lee (New Haven, CT) won the long jump against a headwind with a leap of 6.05 meters; while his brother Joon Hoon Lee (new Haven, CT) placed ninth in the 400-meter (57.02).
The Mavericks return to action on March 28, when they travel to West Point for the Dick Shea Invitational.
