Mavericks Close Out Cross Country Season at ECAC/IC4A Championships

BRONX, NY - The Mercy College cross country teams finished out the 2007 season at the ECAC/IC4A Championships on Saturday, with both teams finishing 25th.

Senior Peter Yarema (Northport, NY) paced the men by finishing in a time of 29:51, with senior Tom Cannariato (Goshen, NY) right behind him at 30:46. Junior Jose Gomez (Monroe, NY) ran the course in 32:23, followed by junior Kevin Gibson (Buenos Aires, Argentina) at 33:45, and junior Issiaka Sow (Bronx, NY) at 35:11 in his first collegiate race.

On the women's side, junior Katelyn Klobus (Averill Park, NY) led the Mavericks on the 5k course at 23:30. Junior Jessica Fabian (Whitehall, PA) ran a time of 26:07, followed by sophomore Janet Wong (Vancouver, Canada) at 27:39, senior Natalya Wells at 27:43, and sophomore Sasha Atkins (Bronx, NY) at 29:43 in her first collegiate race.

The program will begin the indoor campaign on Friday, December 7, at the Fordham Season Starter beginning at 3:00 p.m.
