Mercy College Cross Country Led by Cannariato and Klobus at ECC Championships

BRONX, NY - The Mercy College cross country teams competed in the 2007 East Coast Conference (ECC) Championships held at Van Cortlandt Park on Saturday.

The Mercy women were led by junior Katelyn Klobus (Averill Park, NY), who finished the 5k race in a time of 21:42 to place 15th in a field of 65 competitors. Junior Jessica Fabian (Whitehall, PA) was next to cross the line for the Mavericks, running a time of 25:38.  Sophomore Janet Wong (Vancouver, Canada) finished in 26:52, followed by senior Natalya Wells at 29:22.

On the men's side, senior Tom Cannariato (Goshen, NY) paced the Mavericks on the 8k course with a time of 31:35 to finish 34th out of 69 competitors. Senior Daniel Reeves (Babylon, NY) posted a time of 34:22, followed by junior Kevin Gibson (Buenos Aires, Argentina) at 34:42, and junior Jose Gomez (Monroe, NY) at 34:59.

The NCAA Regional Championships are slated for Saturday, November 3, and the ECAC/IC4A Championships will take place on Saturday, November 17.
