Mercy Track & Field Gets Outdoor Season Underway at Dick Shea Invite

WEST POINT, NY - Two members of the Mercy College track and field program, juniors John Benvin (Thornwood, NY) and Lyndon Walters (Queens, NY), kicked off the outdoor season at the Dick Shea Invitational on Saturday.

Benvin finished 38th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.23 seconds.  He also placed 30th in the 200 meter dash at 27.39 seconds.  Walters turned in an 11th place showing in the 200 meters, running the race in a time of 23.67 seconds and finished tied for eighth in the 100 meter event at 11.40 seconds.

The Mavericks will resume the outdoor campaign on Saturday, April 5, when they compete at the Sam Howell Invitational.
