Cross Country Teams Compete at Albany Invitational
ALBANY, NY - The Mercy College men's and women's cross country teams participated in the 40th Annual Albany Invitational on Saturday, October 14. The men's team finished 23rd out of 27 teams.
The women did not score as a team, but had two individuals compete. Sophomore Katelyn Klobus (Averill Park, NY) finished in a time of 22:11.7, to place 157th. Sophomore Latasha Williams (Bronx, NY) completed the race in a time of 33:48.0.
In the men's race, junior Thomas Cannariato (Goshen, NY) led the way for Mercy with a time of 28:33.1, finishing 128th out of 220 competitors. Senior Edward Murray (W. Islip, NY) was right behind him in 136th place, running a time of 28:45.3. Sophomore Jose Gomez (Monroe, NY) finished in 29:15, junior Peter Yarema (Northport, NY) ran a time of 30:02.9, sophomore Kevin Gibson (Buenos Aires, Argentina) finished in 32:08.7, and junior Daniel Reeves (Babylon, NY) rounded it out at 32:50.3.
Mercy will return to action on Sunday, October 22, at the East Coast Conference championships.
