Cross Country Teams Compete at Albany Invitational

            ALBANY, NY - The Mercy College men's and women's cross country teams participated in the 40^th Annual Albany Invitational on Saturday, October 14. The men's team finished 23^rd out of 27 teams. 

            The women did not score as a team, but had two individuals compete. Sophomore Katelyn Klobus (Averill Park, NY) finished in a time of 22:11.7, to place 157^th.  Sophomore Latasha Williams (Bronx, NY) completed the race in a time of 33:48.0.

            In the men's race, junior Thomas Cannariato (Goshen, NY) led the way for Mercy with a time of 28:33.1, finishing 128^th out of 220 competitors. Senior Edward Murray (W. Islip, NY) was right behind him in 136^th place, running a time of 28:45.3.  Sophomore Jose Gomez (Monroe, NY) finished in 29:15, junior Peter Yarema (Northport, NY) ran a time of 30:02.9, sophomore Kevin Gibson (Buenos Aires, Argentina) finished in 32:08.7, and junior Daniel Reeves (Babylon, NY) rounded it out at 32:50.3.

            Mercy will return to action on Sunday, October 22, at the East Coast Conference championships.
