Mercy Cross Country Competes at 2006 College Joust

           ALBANY, NY - The Mercy College cross country teams were in action on Friday at the 2006 College Joust, hosted by The College of St. Rose.

            The men's team finished second out of four scoring teams, just four points behind the host Golden Knights. Junior Tom Cannariato (Goshen, NY) paced the Flyers, finishing third in a time of 28:46.  Right behind him were Jose Gomez (Monroe, NY) in fourth at 28:54, and Edward Murray (W. Islip, NY) in fifth at 28:56.

            On the women's side, sophomore Katelyn Klobus (Averill Park, NY) continued to shine, finishing fourth out of 15 competitors with a new personal best time of 20:41.

            "Katelyn was just awesome today," said head coach Darryl Bullock. "It was also another encouraging performance by the men and we're looking forward to coming back to Albany next weekend.

            Mercy will be back in action on Saturday, October 14, at the SUNY Albany Invitational.
