Mercy College Men's Cross Country Selected Fourth in ECC Pre-season Poll; Women's Cross Country Picked Eighth
DOBBS FERRY, NY - The Mercy College men's cross country team has been selected to finish fourth at the East Coast Conference (ECC) Championships this fall according to a poll of the league's head coaches. Mercy's women's squad has been tabbed for eighth. Defending men's and women's champion C.W. Post has been picked to repeat for both.
The men's team finished fifth at last year's conference championships. Miguel Reyes (Haverstraw, NY) finished eighth out of 69 participants on the five-mile course with a time of 27:22.84, to earn All-NYCAC Second Team honors. Jose Gomez (Monroe, NY) placed 24th overall, finishing in a time of 29:56.17, and Peter Yarema (Northport, NY) finished 27th at 30:15.84. Katelyn Klobus (Babylon, NY) finished 23rd in the 5k race with a time of 23:14.41 as the women's representative for Mercy.
This year's ECC Championships will take place on Sunday, October 22, at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, NY.
