Klobus and Overton Set School Records for Mercy Track at CTC Championships; Wong Places Second in Javelin Throw

            ALLENTOWN, PA -  A pair of school records were broken by sophomore Katelyn Klobus (Averill Park, NY) and freshman Tyrik Overton (Tarrytown, NY) as the Mercy College track and field team competed at the Collegiate Track Conference (CTC) Outdoor Championships on Sunday, April 22.

            Klobus set her record in the 800-meter run, finishing 11th with a time of 2:34.72 seconds.  Overton established a new mark in the men's long jump with a mark of 5.78 meters. He also placed eighth in the high jump at 1.82 meters.

            Freshman Janet Wong (Vancouver, Canada) continued her stretch of strong performances in the javelin, recording a throw of 37.20 meters to finish second. She also placed 11th in the high jump with a mark of 1.47 meters.

            The Flyers will return to action on Sunday, April 29, at the Yale Springtime Invitational, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
