Mercy's Janet Wong Named ECAC Division II Co-Field Athlete of the Week
DOBBS FERRY, NY - Mercy College freshman track and field standout Janet Wong (Vancouver, Canada) has been named Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II Co-Field Athlete of the Week. She shares the honor with Meghan Rocha of Stonehill.
Wong helped give Mercy a strong start to the outdoor season, finishing first in the women's javelin and tying for third in the high jump at the Bryant Invitational. Wong took the top spot in the javelin with a throw of 40.4 meters, and cleared the bar at 1.47 meters in the high jump. It marked the first time Mercy College has ever had a student-athlete compete in the javelin.
The Flyers will return to action on Saturday, April 14, when they compete at the Coach "O" Invitational beginning at 10:00 a.m.
