Mercy College Track and Field Compete
at Armory Open Masters Season Ender

NEW YORK, NY - Freshman Janet Wong (Vancouver, Canada) tied her own school record in the high jump as the Mercy College track and field teams competed at the Armory Open Masters Season Ender at the New Balance National Track and Field Center on March 3. This meet closed out the Flyers' indoor track and field campaign.
Wong cleared the bar at 1.5m (4 feet, 11 inches) to finish tied for second. Freshman Tyrik Overton (Tarrytown, NY) finished in third place in the Men's Open High Jump (1.82m). Sophomore Katelyn Klobus (Averill Park, NY) competed in the women's open 800m, finishing in a time of 2.35.53 minutes to place sixth. Freshman Carl Spence (St. Catherine's, Jamaica) represented Mercy in the men's open 60m, to finish in 15th place with a time of 7.53 seconds. Three Flyers competed in the men's open 800m, Kevin Gibson (Buenos Aires, Argentina) led the way with a time of 2.35.53 to finish in 13th place. Jose Gomez (Monroe, NY) finished in 17th place while teammate Daniel Reeves (Babylon, NY) finished in 19th place.
Mercy will begin the spring season on April 7 at the Bryant University Invitational.
